A Scriptwriter Claims Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’ Is A Copy Of A Story He Wrote

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan is set to hit the screens all across India this month, and while the cast is busy with promotions, the film has already run into controversy with a scriptwriter claiming that the film’s story bears striking resemblance to one written and registered by him with the film writers association in 2009.

Mohan Kumar Nagar filed a complaint with Dindoshi court in Mumbai, alleging that the script of Yashraj film’s Fan is similar to one written by him for a movie called Dummy. He made this allegation after noticing that Fan’s trailer resembles the storyline of Dummy.

In a Facebook post, Nagar said that credits in the posters of the film do not have the name of the story writer and has asked Yashraj films to reveal the name of the story writer. He has also asked them to clarify if Fan‘s story was registered before his script.

As of now Nagar is asking for Fan‘s trailer to be blocked, and plans to seek a stay on the film’s release.
